Shoreline Pebble Dishes

A part of the Rock Pool collection these dishes are a celebration of a stretch of Northumberland coastline between Howick and Craster, a walk along the shoreline discovering the many layers of rocks and pebbles near Cullernose Point. The dishes are thrown from onyx black porcelain and black stoneware clays. The glazes are poured to maximise the effect of water lapping the shore. The pebbles are hollowed and sculpted, the shape becoming more defined with the hollowing process, rather like the way they would be continually shaped by the sea.
